You may not have heard of Berkshire pork until now but it’s on the menu of many fancy restaurants across the United States. It is also referred to as Kurobuta – meaning black pig in Japanese (Berkshire pork is very popular in Japan).
Berkshire pork is a heritage breed of pig, which was discovered over 300 years ago in Berkshire County in the United Kingdom. Berkshire pork is renowned for its richness, texture, marbling, juiciness, tenderness and overall depth of flavor. It is said to have a very specific taste, not generic and bland or mild like regular pork. Berkshire pork is prized for juiciness, flavor and tenderness, is pink-hued and heavily marbled.
Berkshire pork looks and tastes like no other pork. Unlike commerical pork it is visibly different. It has a darker richer color with an abundance of intramuscular marbling. Its flavor is distinctive with an unparalleled juiciest and tenderness for pork.
Our eggs are collected daily from our free range chickens. We have 75+ chickens of various breeds. Pasture raised like our pigs and all of their eggs are 100% delicious. Our laying hens are modified free range due to predators. Modified meaning they have a large electric netting fence surrounding them inside a high tensile fence. Their diet consists primarily of foraging pasture but we do supplement them with locally-milled feed.
If you are looking for high quality meat, we offer whole or half pigs. Let us know what you want and when you want it. This is not a whole or half carcass.
